Happy Mardi Gras! Exciting news has just been announced for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure! The long-awaited attraction is opening this summer, 2024, and we are thrilled! Walt Disney World has always been a go-to place for families and friends, providing exciting attractions and thrilling rides. And it’s about to get even better with the upcoming Tiana’s Bayou Adventure set to open this summer. The Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World Resort is set to unveil a new attraction that will bring Tiana’s story to life like never before.
Firstly, there will be dozens of new Audio-Animatronics figures, with Tiana’s Audio-Animatronic figure being the highlight of the attraction. New friends who have built their instruments from natural materials in the bayou will join the adventure with Tiana.
If you love jazz and zydeco music, you’ll be delighted with the music in the attraction. It will feature new original music from award-winning New Orleans natives PJ Morton and Terence Blanchard, who played Louis’ trumpet in the film, along with some of the melodies from the Walt Disney Animation Studios film “The Princess and the Frog.”
The story of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure revolves around Tiana throwing a festive party during Mardi Gras season to thank her family, friends, and the entire community for all the support they’ve given her as a successful business owner. You’ll get to experience this celebration with her and new and familiar friends from the animated film. Jenifer Lewis voices bayou fairy godmother, Mamma Odie, Michael Leon Wooley as trumpet-playing alligator Louis, Bruno Campos as Prince Naveen, and naturally, Anika Noni Rose as Princess Tiana!
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is not just an attraction but also a tribute to the city of New Orleans. The Imagineers are drawing inspiration from the city for the attraction featuring a handcrafted weathervane with African design by New Orlean blacksmith Darryl Reeves.
We cannot wait to ride this attraction this summer and return to that fantastic 50-foot drop with a splash of cool water at the end! Tiana continues to inspire people to achieve their dreams, and this amazing attraction shows that if you dig a little deeper, you are almost there!
