15 Spring Break Essentials for a Comfortable and Enjoyable Trip to Walt Disney World

As the spring break season arrives, many people start traveling down to Walt Disney World for a refreshing vacation. During the season, various factors can affect the quality of your trip. Whether you are a first-time visitor or a seasoned veteran, ensuring you have all the essentials for a comfortable and enjoyable trip is important. Here are some spring break essentials you should consider packing for your trip to WDW.

1. Visor

A visor will help keep the sun out of your eyes while still allowing air to circulate freely around your head. It’s a great alternative to a full hat if you want to keep cool while exploring the parks. We recommend Headsweats’ visors because they are stylish, long-lasting, and still in good condition when we get them wet.

2. Umbrellas

Florida spring/summer is known for its sudden rain showers, so it’s always a good idea to pack a small umbrella. They are lightweight, easy to pack, and can come in handy if caught in an unexpected downpour.

3. Sunglasses

Protect your eyes from the bright Florida sun with a good pair of sunglasses. They will add a fashionable touch to your outfit and help reduce glare and eye strain. We love Goodr sunglasses because they come in many colorful styles and are a fun way to protect your eyes from harmful rays.

4. Hair ties

When running around the parks in the heat and humidity, your hair might frizz or become uncomfortable. Keep a few hair ties in your bag to keep your hair out of your face and under control. To add a pop of color to your outfit, try the assortment of Ouchless Goody hair ties. You will always find me with some in my bag.

5. Water bottle

It’s important to stay hydrated during your visit to WDW, especially in the warm spring weather. Bring a refillable water bottle to save money and reduce waste. I love the Starbucks Tumblers, which you can find at the Parks and resorts or on the Disney Store website.

6. Portable chargers/Fuel Rods

With all the picture-taking and phone use, your phone battery will quickly drain. Bring a portable charger or get and refresh your Fuel Rods at one of the stations located throughout the Parks to keep your phone charged all day.

7. Tablet

Productive Disney Day

If you have kids or siblings, a tablet can be a lifesaver during long lines or waits. You can play games, movies, and other entertainment to keep yourselves occupied when bored; there are plenty of things to do while waiting, though, like searching for Hidden Mickeys.

8. Tissues

You never know when you might need a tissue, especially during the spring season, and it’s always better to be prepared. Pack a small pack of Kleenex to have on hand.

9. Fan

A small handheld or neck fan can be a great way to stay cool while waiting in line or walking around the parks. There are a lot of neck fans on Amazon that you can get the next day. Disney also has fun designs that you can find in the Parks and resorts.

10. Proper clothes

Be sure to pack clothes appropriate for your activities and the Florida weather. Lightweight, breathable fabrics are best to keep you comfortable in the warm temperatures. Also, wear clothes that can dry quickly if you go on a water ride or get stuck in the rain. Asics shorts are typically my go-to for Park days because they are quick-drying. Do not wear jeans or jean shorts. Trust me; many people make this mistake.

11. Swimsuit

Pack a few swimsuits if you plan to visit the water parks or hotel pools. Just be conscious of the swimsuit you bring to the family-friendly pools. We always want to be polite to others around us. Disney prohibits swimsuits with rivets or grommets at pools and water parks. I always find pretty swimsuits at Macy’s and Dillards. Also, Disney has a lot of cute swimsuit designs in the stores and on the Disney Store website.

12. Goggles

If you have people in your party who enjoy swimming, goggles can make a big difference in their comfort and enjoyment. We have at least 20 Speedo goggles at home because we are big swimmers.

13. Hand sanitizer

With so many people touching the same surfaces, keeping your hands clean throughout the day is crucial. Pack a small bottle of hand sanitizer to use throughout the day. Who doesn’t love going to Bath & Body Works? If you forget to bring hand sanitizer with you, they always have some in the checkout lines in stores.

14. Lotion

Keeping your hands soft and moisturized while traveling is crucial, especially given the drying effects of hand sanitizer and frequent hand washing. Additionally, having a pleasant scent to enjoy during your trip is lovely. You can pick some up on your trip to Bath & Body Works or check out Basin at Disney Springs!

15. Sunscreen

Most importantly, UV radiation from the sun can cause skin damage, premature aging, wrinkles, and skin cancer. Sunscreen, protective clothing, and seeking shade during peak sun hours are essential to protect your skin. We love the BLUE LIZARD SPF 50 sensitive mineral sunscreen. It is water resistant, UVAUVB protective, and made with no parabens or active chemical ingredients. It also comes with a Smart Cap that changes from clear to purple when UV rays are present. It is in to see the level of UV rays outside. We highly recommend it. Remember, prevention is vital to avoiding the harmful effects of the sun on your skin.

Packing these spring break essentials will help ensure your WDW trip is comfortable, enjoyable, and memorable. Preparing for the Florida weather and all your activities will help you make the most of your time in the most magical place on Earth.
