Time to celebrate Black History Month! If you are visiting Walt Disney World during Black History Month, there are many fun and exciting things you can do to observe the occasion. Here are some of our top things to try this year!

One of the things you can do to celebrate Black History Month at Walt Disney World is indulge in the delicious food options available at various restaurants throughout the park.

If you want to try some African flavors, Sanaa African Triple Chocolate Mousse at Sanaa in the Animal Kingdom Lodge is a must-try. For those who crave Caribbean flavors, there are plenty of fantastic options. Some of the best Caribbean dishes include the Taste of the Caribbean Menu at Sebastian’s Bistro, Trinidad Sunrise Crispy Yuca Bowl at Spyglass Grill, Roasted Half-Chicken at Centertown Market at Caribbean Beach Resort, and Caribbean Spiced Salad with Chicken and Jerk Shrimp Rice Bowl at Leaning Palms at Typhoon Lagoon.

If you prefer Southern flavors, then you can’t go wrong with Sweet Potato Pie at Pecos Bill in Magic Kingdom, Tiana’s Famous Beignets at Golden Oak Outpost in Magic Kingdom, and Peach Cobbler Mini Cake at Dino-Bite Snacks in Animal Kingdom.

Creative Fun at Epcot!

Another great way to celebrate Black History Month at Walt Disney World is to check out the Festival of the Arts. If you enjoy Broadway shows, then you’ll love the performances by L. Steven Taylor, Kissy Simmons, Michael James Scott, and Bradley Gibson.

Resort Movie Nights

The Little Mermaid (2023) on Disney+

If you want to take a break from the rides and indulge in some movies, there are many great options. Some must-watch movies are Little Mermaid (2023), Princess and the Frog, Wish, Lion King (2019), Soul, and Black Panther. You can enjoy these movies in your hotel room or at the park. 

African Art

Those interested in art can visit the African art exhibit at Pizzafari in Animal Kingdom. There will be art from Victor Ekpuk, an internationally renowned Nigerian artist. This is going to be a fabulous experience.

Anticipation for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Lastly, look forward to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom, which is set to open late this year. There is merchandise available as we wait in expectation for the attraction, such as a glow-in-the-dark Loungefly, a limited edition pin, and more fun merch in the parks and shopDisney.
