The holiday spirit is in the air at Walt Disney World this season, and these are some of our top picks to have some Disney World holiday fun this season.
Rides with Holiday Overlays
It is so fun when rides are decorated with holiday flair. Even the littlest details can warm your heart with Christmas joy. Make sure to see the Christmas decor on Jingle Cruise at Magic Kingdom (the holiday version of Jungle Cruise), Living with the Land, and Journey into Imagination at Epcot. Jungle Cruise and Living with the Land get a fabulous, jolly transformation. Figment even gets festive with his Christmas sweater. They are so much fun.
Eat Holiday Food
The food during this time of year is so delicious (even though it is always super tasty throughout the year). It is worth trying the Holiday Kitchens around Epcot and the special desserts and beverages around the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios.
Look at the Beautiful Christmas Decorations
Take a moment to soak in all the holiday magic around you while you are in the parks. The intricate details that they put into the decorations are outstanding. Look out for Hidden Mickeys or unique character pieces in the decorations.
Partake in Festive Activities
There are many things to do during Christmas at Walt Disney World. Here are some that you should definitely check out this season.
There are a lot of events happening at Epcot during the holidays, including the cookie stroll. On the cookie stroll, if you buy five cookies and get them stamped in your Festival of the Holidays passport, you can get a Star cookie From Disney’s new movie “Wish.”
Also at Epcot, head to the Voices of Liberty in the American Adventure to hear Christmas carols, the JOYFUL! Ensemble to hear Christmas and Kwanzaa songs and see the Candlelight Processional. There are many celebrity hosts, including Jordan Fisher and Neil Patrick Harris. It’s such a neat experience. All of these voices sound so beautiful.
Lastly, don’t forget about scavenger hunts! Olaf’s Holiday Tradition is a fun way to explore Epcot while looking for Olaf around the World Showcase. You can get the scavenger hunt map and stickers at one of the merchandise stores for $9.99. Plus, do the free Christmas Tree Stroll at Disney Springs and admire all of the gorgeous trees. When you finish the stroll, you will get a pin with the Christmas Tree 2023 logo, take the map with you, and use one of the discounts on the back for restaurants and shopping.
Furthermore, head to Animal Kingdom to see the Merry Menagerie: life-size, hand-crafted winter animal puppets that parade around the park.
Enjoy Holiday Shows
The top pick of this season is the beautiful projection shows. The Frozen Holiday Surprise, Sunset Seasons Greetings, and the Tree of Life Awakening Holiday Edition will give you chills this season. Watch as Elsa turns Cinderella’s Castle into a beautiful, icy masterpiece, the Tower of Terror lights up merrily and bright with color, and the animals in the Tree of Life illuminate with light and love. They genuinely lift your holiday spirits.
These are some of our top picks for things to do in the parks this season. We hope we inspired you with some of the magic of Christmas at Walt Disney World! Happy holidays!
