Have you ever felt distressed when you left your dog at home while you vacationed at Walt Disney World? If so, you’ll be pleased to know that some fantastic, pet-friendly accommodation options are available to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Don’t leave your fur baby sad and home alone anymore. See what the excellent pet-friendly options have to offer.
Dog-Friendly Resorts
There are a few places to stay at Walt Disney World with your best friend. The property options are Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campground and Cabins, Disney’s Yacht Club, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, and Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside. These are four fabulous options for staying on property with your puppy. But, if you want to visit off-property, look into Marriott’s TownePlace Suites Orlando at FLAMINGO CROSSINGS, which is only six miles from Animal Kingdom. Pets are welcome at this hotel. It’s great for families, and they allow one pet per room.
Nearby Boarding and Daycare
Whether you want to stay at a resort on the property or off, you can board your animals at Best Friends Pet Care across the street from Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside. They have cozy suites for the dogs’ stay. There is an array of room options, just like a Disney resort: indoor ($53), indoor/outdoor ($65), villa ($113), luxury ($138), and club ($306). Each of the rooms has different levels of amenities.
You can also reserve and drop your dog off for daycare at Best Friends. They offer indoor and indoor/outdoor day rooms at $53 and $56, respectively. During the Doggy Day Camp, your dog can play with all the other campers during playtime. They rest in their rooms for naptime, and you can personalize their day by adding spa treatments, cuddle times with counselors, or even some sweet treats. My dog always has so much fun during playtime with the other dogs. We always have a great experience. I recommend getting your favorite fuzzy friend a new toy from the shop in the lobby to take with them during the day. It will make their day.
You can also try the off-property dog daycare, Pet Paradise Lake Buena Vista. They also have boarding, daycare, grooming, and a vet. There is even a pool for your dog to cool off and plenty of grass for them to run. It is 13 miles away and about a 15-20 min drive from Walt Disney World. This is also a great place to consider.
Service Dogs
Now, let’s talk about service dogs. Service pets can stay at any Disney Resort, but emotional support animals are prohibited. You can take your service into the parks also, but there are some rides they are prevented from riding. You should be able to Rider Switch, though, to ride the attractions. There are also plenty of relief stations all around the parks. They must be under control and always wear a harness or leash at the resorts and parks.
There are multiple outstanding options when traveling to WDW with your furry friend. Pack your bags, grab your pet’s favorite toy, and prepare for a magical adventure at Walt Disney World! You’ll really enjoy trying out these choices. Give them a go, and let us know what you think!
